Flowers for my birthday from Hawaii!!!

Thank you sweet sister Sandi for the gorgeous bouqet of flowers from Hawaii! The flowers are harvested from the slopes of Mt. Haleakala on the island of Maui. I visited the shop when our tour bus went up the mountain and I could not handle the thin air. A van brought me back down to the shop called Proteas of Hawaii.

Little Kangaroo Maggie in her Jumparoo!

Maggie would make a great kangaroo!!! She loves her jumparoo! She's gonna be a gymnast!!

First Sleepover at Grandpa & Grandma's!

We loved, loved having Maggie stay with us Saturday and Sunday (July 16 & 17th)! She's terrific at naps. I love her two hour nap so I can take a nap too! She's such a good baby. Very sweet nature. She's a wild woman in her jumparoo! It's hilarious to watch. In one of the pictures she fell asleep while playing on the floor. She loves sucking on two of her fingers while she drifts off. We covered her with a blankie and she slept for about half an hour. She's a delight!

Great Friends! Barb & Greg!

We love spending time with Barb & Greg up north at their home in Bellaire. We feel so relaxed and are so refreshed up their. We love their home. It's beautiful!

Our wonderful neighbor Ruth

Ruth is a wonderful neighbor. We met her January 1986 when we moved into our house. She started babysitting Michael and Brian right away. Their ages at the time were 4 & 6. She's been a blessing to have next door. She takes care of our house when we're gone and has watched Shelby many times. She has a husky named Dakota. (Dakota and Shelby are in the above picture.)

02-12-2011 Maggie Elizabeth Guzowski

Maggie Elizabeth Guzowski was born on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:20am.  She was 21 1/2 inches long and 7lbs 15oz.  Wendy did a marvelous job during labor and delivery.  The triage nurse and physician said that she'd probably deliver sometime the next day.  Surprise, several hours later Wendy dilated quickly and Maggie was ready to see the world.  Michael was wonderful and very supportive of anything Wendy needed.  It was phenomenal to watch them experience life's very precious moment, the birth of your child. You could see the joy and love they felt toward each other bringing a baby into the world.  Maggie is named after Wendy's mom, Margaret Elizabeth Ruark who passed away a few years ago of multiple sclerosis.  Wendy's dad, Don was with us in labor & delivery.  Here's are a few pictures of our third granddaughter!

Update on the family

Wishing my sister Diane and daughter-in-law Jodie a better week ahead.  Diane's surgery on the 24th was fourteen hours long.  She's home now and I'm very proud on how she's handling recovery.  She had a mastecomy, breast reconstruction using skin and fatty tissue from her abdomen, and a lymph node transplant.  She sure had alot of slicing and dicing!!!

Jodie delivered Makayla Alexis on January 18th.  Makayla was 6lb 6oz, 20 inches long, and born at 4:45am.  She's a beautiful tiny little thing.  She's so sweet natured and good too!  I think Jodie may have been in an ulcerative flare because she had a very difficult time after delivery.  She was taken to surgery the following night and had internal and external hemorrhoids excised and lazered.  I think the doctor drain and repaired a few fistulas.  Jodie was back in the hospital Saturday and needed a catherization.  She's so uncomfortable and in so much pain.  She goes back on Monday to see if it's okay to take the cath out.

I'm sending my love and get well wishes for these two beautiful, kind ladies!!!
